Last week we heard that Apple’s iOS 9 would bring some updates to Apple Maps, the major update will be the addition of transit support in the maps software.
Now according to a recent report, iOS 9 will bring Apple Maps transit
directions to some US, European Chinese and UK cities when it launches.
In the US the transit directions will be available in San Francisco
and New York in the US, Toronto in Canada, plus London, Paris and Berlin
in Europe.
China will apparently also get the new transit feature, although
Apple has an agreement with AutoNavi in China to provide maps data, so
this will likely be used instead of Apple’s own data.
Apple are expected to make iOS 9 official at their Worldwide
Developer Conference next month, the software is rumored to launch in
September along with the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.
